In his talk Musa Aamir shares his take on designing a business based on addressing food wastage. Musa is the Co-founder at Rizq, a movement aiming to combat food wastage and hunger, which has been channeling excess food to the deserving families and individuals in the slum areas of Pakistan. Rizq has been recognized as one of the top 20 Social Enterprises of South Asia by DFID and Nike Foundation backed SPRING Programme. Rizq has also been recognized as the top 3 Social Enterprises in Pakistan by Engro in 2017. Recently they have been awarded the Queen’s Commonwealth Point of Light Award, as well recognized by the government for their services in the Covid Crisis. Rizq is spearheading product innovation to create systems for food distribution and channelization to feed 100 million food insecure Pakistanis.
Musa has over 4 years of experience in various social organizations, academia and research institutions like LUMS, Cambridge University, Royal Commonwealth Society. He is the youngest recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award in LUMS, and a motivational speaker featured on various national/international platforms such as PespiCO, FAO, TEDx and Commonwealth.
