Prof. Damian explores the intersections between sport, philosophy and creativity and how sometimes inspiration can come from the most surprising sources. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. He served as the first Chair of Literature Wales – one of Wales’s seven national arts companies – from 2012 to 2018. His main fields of research are Romanticism; the wider material cultures of the Romantic period; Romantic historicism and the methodologies of Romantic Studies; Romanticism and geography/ cartography; Welsh writing in English; twentieth-century poetry; and Creative Writing. He is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
