Change needs more than just your well-reasoned arguments | Colin Ashton-Graham | TEDxPerthSalon
Want to make change for a better world? Turns out our instincts to ‘campaign’ are often dead wrong. Behavioural economist Colin Ashton-Graham’s surprising finding is that, when logical reasoning fails, combining norms and values enables change. Colin is a Behavioural Economist with almost 30 years experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of sustainability behaviour change interventions. He has applied these skills to infrastructure and service planning in the transport sector and to demand management of water, energy, waste, garden nutrients (river health), physical activity (population health), household waste and transport. Colin’s recent work includes the Technical Lead on behaviour change programs in Western Australia for the Water Corporation, Plastic Free Foundation, Parks and Wildlife, Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, Transport, Sport and Recreation and many Local Government Authorities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
