Lian-Yu Chen, M.D., PhD is an expert in the field of addiction sciences who has clinical experiences and public health training. She is now an assistant professor in the Institute of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at National Taiwan University, the Secretary General of Taiwanese Society of Addiction Sciences, and the deputy director of Kunming Prevention and Control Center, which is responsible for Drug Prevention program in the Taipei City. She has published more than 50 academic papers and has received has received several prestigious awards including the Lucy Shum Award from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Young Investigator Award from Ministry of Technology and Science and the Best Thesis Award from Taiwanese Society of Addiction Sciences. She actively advocates for the concept of “addiction as a brain disease”. She also dedicates to the expansion of addiction treatment as well as destigmatization movement of addictive disorders. 陳亮妤醫師是國內少數具有成癮醫學專業和公共衛生專業的精神科醫師,她是台灣大學流行病及預防醫學所的助理教授、成癮醫學會秘書長、同時主責台北市毒品防治政策。她已發表數十篇論文,獲獎無數,包含科技部優秀青年學者、成癮醫學會最佳論文獎、約翰霍普金斯Lucy Shum精神醫療貢獻獎以及美國國家藥物濫用署性別差異研究獎等。陳亮妤醫師對於「成癮是疾病」這個概念積極倡議,也推動擴大成癮治療及成癮去汙名化的運動。 This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
